What to Expect When Working with Grain Waves Woodworks

Thank you for considering Grain Waves Woodworks. This page outlines what you can expect when partnering with us and answers many of our most common questions.
While every project is unique, our process typically follows these four stages:

1. Design & Quote

This stage usually takes a few days. We start by learning about your vision—often with an on-site visit to take measurements. Our designer then develops a detailed concept and proposal, including pricing and estimated timelines.
At this point, we’ll determine whether your project is best suited for fully custom or semi-custom work. Once you approve the design, we’ll provide a final quote. To reserve your spot on our schedule, we’ll sign a contract and collect a 40–50% deposit.

2. Construction

Your project is built in our Oshtemo township workshop using a combination of in-house craftsmanship and materials sourced from our trusted suppliers. This stage is often the longest. If anything affects the timeline—such as a delay in materials—we’ll communicate with you promptly to keep you informed.

3. Finishing

Once construction is complete, we move on to painting, staining, or other finish work. We collaborate with a select group of local painters and personally handle transportation to ensure your cabinetry is protected every step of the way.
For semi-custom projects, we may have finished components delivered directly to your location, and we thoroughly inspect each piece for quality before proceeding.

4. Installation

Finally, our team installs your project with precision and care—whether in your home, office, or another space. At this stage, the remaining balance is due before installation begins.

We want you to be completely satisfied with your new piece. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we invite you to share your experience with a review on Google.

We love what we do and take pride in how we do it. We are much better carpenters than we are videographers, however we love to share what we’re up to. Here are a few photos behind the scenes, into the shop where the magic happens. If you’d like to see more, check out our social media pages. Links can be found on the bottom of the webpage.
